Over the past 10 years, Novogen has conducted the largest and most comprehensive isoflavone clinical testing program in the world. That program has delivered to Novogen important proprietary information that is the basis for the development of its unique isoflavone formulations. Two brands are currently marketed - Promensil™ and Trinovin™. - Plant breeding technology: Novogen extracts its isoflavones from red clover, the richest source of isoflavones in Nature. Novogen has developed its own strains of red clover that have specific ratios of the different isoflavones. These plants are grown in Australia under the auspices of Novogen to exacting standards.
- Extraction technology: Novogen has developed innovative technology to extract isoflavones from the clover. This extraction technology, the subject of an international patent, ensures highly efficient and cost-effective extraction of isoflavones in a non-destructive manner.
- Use of isoflavones: The use of two or more of four key isoflavones - genistein, daidzein, biochanin and formononetin - in a composition for particular health uses (supported by clinical data) is now patented in Europe, UK, USA, Canada and Australia.
- Specific isoflavone compositions: Novogen has conducted clinical studies with products containing different ratios of the four key isoflavones. Particular health benefits are now recognised as being associated with particular isoflavone ratios. This know-how is now patented in Europe, UK, USA, Canada and Australia.
- Trademarks: Significant brand equity has been established with the global success of Promensil and Trinovin.
